Dr. John Woodward

John Woodward has over 25 years experience as a commercial litigator, which led to a strong interest in alternative dispute resolution as a means of resolving disputes. John currently works as an ADR practitioner offering mediation and arbitration services.
John was the partner in charge of the commercial dispute resolution practice group at Turnbull Hill Lawyers for over 14 years. As part of this practice he also managed insolvency issues, debt recovery, credit management, insurance law and matters involving judicial review of administrative decisions.
In 2014, John established Hunter Mediation Services, a law practice providing comprehensive dispute resolution services. He is accredited Facilitative Mediator with the Australian International Disputes Centre, and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He completed his Masters of Laws in Dispute Resolution at the University of New South Wales in 2014.
John has published a number of articles on alternative dispute resolution, and has recently been awarded his PhD from University of Newcastle for research into lawyer involvement with ADR.
