Overview

Everyone has the right to work in an environment free from bullying, harassment and discrimination.

However, the reality is that Australian workplaces have a long way to go to achieve this goal – and this includes the legal profession. Recent studies have found that over 30% of lawyers have experienced bullying and harassment in a work context.

This course focuses on bullying, harassment and discrimination in the workplace, particularly in the legal profession. It covers the following areas:

  • understanding and identifying bullying, harassment and discrimination at a practical level in the workplace;
  • legal and disciplinary consequences of these types of misconduct, as well as its impact on individuals and organisations more broadly;
  • how workers, firms and organisations can work to prevent and respond to these types of misconduct.
